Sports Premium 2017-2018
The approximate allocation for the academic year 2017/2018 is £8,848.
From this funding we have employed Mr S Evans to work as a specialist sports coach across Key Stage One and Key Stage Two for 1.5 days per week and run an after-school athletics club. As well as delivering high quality sports lessons he has coached small groups of children across both Key Stages in preparation for Gateshead wide competitions.
The remainder of the funding will be used towards the Service Level Agreement with the Gateshead School Sports Partnership, which costs £1,116. This gives us access to a range of competitive sporting events.
We have a range of sporting activities which take place as after-school clubs, with over 80 children per week participating in one or more of these sessions. The clubs that we offer differ across the school year but we aim to give the children the opportunity to try new sports and activities. This equates to approximately 110 hours of additional provision.
Over 100 children have entered competitions this academic year in sports including Cross Country, Cricket, Netball and Rugby. Our Key Stage and Foundation Stage children take part in multi-skills events held at Gateshead Leisure Centre.
The impact of Sports Premium Funding is tracked and discussed with our School Improvement Partner each term. Sport Premium funding impact is discussed at the Spring Term Governor Meeting and termly at sub-committee meetings of the Curriculum and Standards; and Resources Committees.
This statement is to be reviewed and updated when we receive the updated figures for the new Sports Premium Funding.
