Congratulations on your Artsmark Gold Award!

St. Josephs Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School is to be commended for providing a range of high quality cultural and artistic opportunities for pupils. The Senior Leadership Team have committed considerable investment to provide an artist in residence, which has not only supported teacher CPD and pupil’s artistic development opportunities, but also helped shape policy and initiated the opportunity for pupils to reflect on their learning. You have also embraced the rich local cultural heritage by raising the profile of local art work. I’m sure the pupils will have been very excited to have worked on designing their own school sculpture. Distributing a local sculpture guide to other schools has also helped you to support their cultural journeys.  You have also successfully engaged with a number of partners, including the local music hub to offer extended performance opportunities and WOW events to help motivate and excite pupils.

We wanted to share our amazing news with you all – all the hard work we have been investing into the Arts and Culture has paid off.  We are delighted to now be an Artsmark Gold School.
