After the success of the illustration project in school, artist Josie Brookes invited eight children from year 6 along to Caedmon Hall to take part in a masterclass.

These children had the opportunity to make work work to be displayed in the gallery and also got a sneaky look at how amazing the gallery looks featuring the work from some of our children.

Mr Hattam was delighted to receive an email from Josie Brookes where she said:

“I just wanted to get in touch after today’s masterclass to personally thank you for your involvement in the project. Today was a great success, all the children from the school arrived this morning – excited, motivated, focused and creatively charged! – and continued to be all day long, I couldn’t have been more proud of the children from St Joseph’s and the work that they made.

They are a credit to your school, (as have all the yr 3 and yr 6 children throughout project) and your teaching, and it has been a joy to get to know them and see all their lovely work develop these past few weeks.”

A huge thank you to all the children for their amazing effort and behaviour during the project.

Please get yourselves along to the library to see their amazing work.  Don’t forget that there is a free family fun-day taking place on Thursday 26th October at the library where all are invited to attend.
