We welcomed two visitors in our school today: Gary Bennett and Justine King from Show Racism the Red Card. The day started with a whole school assembly on the main message of the campaign. Then the children from Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to spend the whole day working with Gary and Justine. The day was very informative and we learned lots of interesting things. We played games, listened to stories with a really important message and took part in workshops to raise awareness of what constitutes racist language. Justine was really great at helping us understand what racism can look like.
We ended the day with a fitness session run by Gary. It was great to keep fit and play team games including relays. We enjoyed playing football and competing against each other. We all left school with the very clear message – Show Racism the Red Card.
