Year 2 recently visited Souter Lighthouse on an educational visit. The children were very excited to be given the opportunity to go rock pooling. We found all sorts of tiny creatures including crabs, periwinkles, hermit crabs, starfish and limpets.  The children loved clambering over the rocks and investigating the caves although a few of us did get a bit wet! In the afternoon, the children were given a tour of the lighthouse. They learned how it works and some of the history surrounding it. They also learned what life would have been like for the lighthouse keeper and his family.
